Playing Catch-Up, Again

It has been far too long since our last post. My apologies! Here are pictures from the last several months.

Couldn't Resist...

Abi took this photo of us a couple weeks ago.  It was during our family photo shoot at Esther Short Park.  Its one of my favorites.  I'm hoping more photos from the shoot will be availble soon (hint hint).

Fourth of July

So, they are kind of late, but here are a few pictures from our Fourth of July.

Shane was working the youth group fund raiser at Blackjacks Fireworks that morning, so Calvin and I joined our friends and went to the Ridgefield parade.  Calvin loved it.  We had a great day!

Our Growing Boy

I know, I know...  I'm way over due on this post.

Calvin had his first tooth break through last Saturday.  He was gnawing on Grandma Lynette's finger when it finally broke though the gums.  Its the bottom front one, on the right.  He doesn't really let us see it, as he tries to lick anything that comes near his mouth so his tongue is always in the way.  You can feel it though, so I have to be careful now when he chews on my fingers.  Baby teeth are razor sharp.

Calvin is also rolling all around.  He is always on the go.  Always moving.  When he starts crawling, walking and running, we are really going to have our hands full.  I've started praying that the Lord will give us extra energy, because I know we're going to need it.  I can tell that he's going to keep us busy.  He is just so active!!!

Calvin is now over 20 pounds.  I thought I'd have time to build up my muscles for carrying him around.  No such luck.  In just under six months he has gone from just under 8 pounds to just over 20.  He is one healthy little boy.  With delicious chubby cheeks and thighs.  Gotta love the baby chub!

Finally eating real food... kind of.

Calvin has started the road to real food, beginning with rice cereal.  It was a little shaky at first.  There was a little gagging and face making, but now he's thoroughly enjoying his rice cereal.  We mix it with breast milk and baby apple juice.  Right now he eats it just once a day.  Soon we will add oatmeal cereal and fruit.  I think we'll try bananas, peaches and applesauce or pears to start.  Then maybe some veggies, like sweet potatoes and carrots.

A couple weeks ago, we went to the doctor and found out we have a very healthy, but large boy.  At 18 lbs 9 oz and 26.5 inches, he is in the 96 percentile for weight and 91 percentile for height.  And while he looks like he has a large head, its only in the 79 percentile.  However, those numbers make for a big boy.  We love our big boy and we are thankful to God that he is healthy.
